AMERICAN MUSEUM OF ASMAT ART

MISSION The American Museum of Asmat Art at St. Thomas engages students and the global community through preserving, exhibiting, and interpreting the art of Asmat people, in order to expand human understanding and promote intercultural awareness.

The objective of the American Museum of Asmat Art is to comprehend the museum's identity, creating the foundation of a strategic plan.

AUDIENCE ENGAGEMENT

Includes the execution of audience engagement: Opportunity for unique thought and to engage a new audience in a new and interactive way.

The AMAA held an event from February 10th to 15th, during which people could pick up a heart and place it near their favorite piece of art to celebrate the month of love.

There were over 60 participants who were able to increase awareness of the museum.

The World Water Day tabling event promoted the significance of World Water Day and its connection to the current exhibit, "Water in Asmat: Power and Presence."

In the gallery, students had the opportunity to respond to a variety of questions and share their thoughts. There were over 75 notes exchanged in the gallery.

Location
The AMAA is on the second floor of the Anderson Student Center at the University of St. Thomas.

Parking
Street parking is available in non-permit areas along Cretin Avenue and Summit Avenue. Guests are also welcome to park in the Anderson Parking Facility and the Morrison Parking Ramp.
